Austin Myers is an actuarial specialist at The Hilltop Institute. He performs data analysis and develops tables for the rate setting team to use in presentations with managed care organizations, the Maryland Department of Health, and other associates. These data include evaluation and management, financial modeling reports, geographic information, demographics, and more.
Austin was most recently a business analyst for Touchstone Growth Partners, where he analyzed WIC redemptions state by state and attended in-person conferences where he met state representatives and beneficiaries of the WIC program. During the summer at Penn State, he worked with a professor on a research project, where he studied the factors that predict a student pursuing graduate studies in mathematics to improve outreach.
Austin graduated from Penn State University in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in economics. He has also passed his first three exams with the Society of Actuaries: probability, financial mathematics, and fundamentals of actuarial mathematics. He plans on pursuing the ASA designation and eventually the FSA designation.
