Hilltop Updates Codebook, Fact Sheets, and FAQs
for its Predictive Models

The Hilltop Institute recently released an updated version of the Risk Score Specifications and Codebook for its suite of prediction tools called the Hilltop Pre- Models. This suite includes the Pre-AH Model (Avoidable Hospitalizations), Pre-DC Model (Severe Diabetes Complications), and Pre-HE Model (Hospice Eligibility and Advanced Care Planning). The updated Codebook (version 4) provides detailed information on the intended use, technical implementation, and predictive performance of the Hilltop Pre- Models for over 2 million Marylanders with Medicare and Medicaid for whom risk scores are generated each month. Hilltop also updated the three Fact Sheets that accompany the Codebook, which provide concise overviews of each model’s purpose, outcome, and risk factors, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions document that summarizes the meaning of each Pre- Model, the differences between them, their predictive performance, and where to find more information.

View these documents on the Predictive Modeling page of Hilltop’s website.
