Hilltop staff presented at the 2024 AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM) held June 29 – July 2 in Baltimore.

Interim Executive Director Alice Middleton, JD, participated in two panels, titled Medicaid Unwinding Winds Down: What State Policies Worked for Children? What’s Next? and Continue the Conversation: Leveraging State-Public University Partnerships to Support Evidence-Based Policy Decisions in Medicaid.

Principal Policy Analyst Dolapo Fakeye, PhD, moderated the Best Student Poster Symposium.

Data Scientist Advanced Leigh Goetschius, PhD, gave a podium presentation titled Utilization Trends in Medicaid-Reimbursed Doula Services and Out-of-Pocket Cost Savings in Maryland.

Senior Policy Analyst MaryAnn Mood, MA, gave a podium presentation titled Health Service Utilization of Medicaid Beneficiaries Receiving Supportive Housing Services.

Policy Analyst Advanced Roberto Millar, PhD, presented a poster titled Nurse Staffing in Nursing Facilities and Family Members’ Appraisal of Resident Care.

Policy Analyst Parker James, MPP, presented a poster titled Leveraging State Data Sources to Improve Analysis of Medicaid Participant Race and Ethnicity.

Principal Data Scientist Fei Han, PhD, presented a poster titled Multiple Chronic Condition Patterns among Full-Benefit Maryland Medicaid Enrollees.

Principal Policy Analyst Christine Gill, PhD, presented a poster titled Leveraging the Medicaid Current Beneficiary Survey to Estimate Undercounting in Claims Data during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.

Policy Analyst Advanced Morgane Mouslim, ScM, DVM, presented two posters: Trends in Self-Pay Prices for Emergency Department Facility Fees (2021-2023) and Sole Community Hospitals and Affordable Rural Health.
